Job Description

Reports to the Chief/Designate, Emergency Services and participates as a strong member of the management team, the Deputy Chief, Professional Standards assists in motivating, coaching and mentoring staff to their highest practical standard. The Deputy Chief, Professional Standards is responsible for implementing and maintaining processes and workflows that will maintain Huron County’s standing within the Paramedic Services industry’s normally accepted professional standards. The Deputy Chief, Professional Standards is responsible to develop, implement and maintain a Paramedic Services department's continuous quality improvement program with the consultation of the Chief/Designate. The Deputy Chief, Professional Standards is required to participate in a rotating on-call (24/7 per week) management system and to work occasional extended hours as required.

Qualifications

Certified Paramedic (AEMCA) A University Degree in a related field of study (business/health sciences) preferred Additional Certification in Adult Education will be considered an asset A minimum of 5 years of experience at a Paramedic Services management level in a related field (e.g. – Ontario Paramedic Services system) in addition to a demonstrated progressive career path
