Paramedic Services Week 2026 – A Message from OAPC President Greg Sage

17 May Paramedic Services Week 2026 – A Message from OAPC President Greg Sage

To mark the beginning of Paramedic Services Week 2026 (May 17-23), OAPC President Chief Greg Sage has recorded a video thanking paramedics and reflecting on this year’s theme, “Better Care Starts Here,” which recognizes the many ways paramedics use their advanced expertise to care for, protect, and strengthen the communities they serve. This aligns with today’s kick-off theme, “Clinical Excellence,” which promotes the message that paramedics are highly trained clinicians who assess, diagnose, and treat patients in dynamic and often unpredictable environments. They expertly care for people experiencing complex medical and traumatic emergencies, and their clinical expertise makes the difference that people rely on.

“Behind every interaction there’s a person, there’s a family, there’s a story, and a moment that matters. Paramedics provide not only expert care, they also deliver compassion, reassurance and dignity,” says OAPC President Greg Sage.

The OAPC will be posting more content on the website and social media through the week, with each day from Monday to Saturday having a particular focus.

Themes for the week are as follows:

  • Monday: Public Action Saves Lives
  • Tuesday: Mental Health & Resilience
  • Wednesday: Teamwork
  • Thursday: Community Paramedicine
  • Friday: Compassionate Care
  • Saturday: Paramedic Recognition

Stay tuned!
