Job Listing | Shift Superintendent - Full Time

- Significant experience in the provincial ambulance system, gained by working as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic; - Business or vocational knowledge acquired through Community College or University Education in Health Sciences or related field; - Certified as EMCA or AEMCA;  - Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred;  - Demonstrated leadership skills to delegate, train and assist employees;  - Knowledge of legislation including the Ambulance Act, Highway Traffic Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ministry of Health policies, procedures, guidelines and specifications related to Ambulance dispatch, Base Hospitals, equipment and supplies;  - Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with paramedics, the public, and allied agencies; - Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills;  - Interest, aptitude and demonstrated ability in specialized EMS project work such as: logistical and equipment research; protocol development and training initiatives; community programs and education.  - Computer Skills in Microsoft Office Suites and other computer software programs.  - Defibrillation & System Relief Certification;  - Valid Ontario Class “F” Driver’s License
