It is with heartfelt sadness and sympathies that I must inform you of the passing of Essex Windsor EMS District Chief Shawn Davis.

Shawn passed away suddenly at his home in Chatham early this morning.

Shawn is survived by both a son and a daughter, as well as two brothers and a sister.

Shawn joined the Essex Windsor EMS team in 2001 as a District Chief. Prior to 2001, Shawn was a paramedic for Dufferin Caledon Ambulance Service, Bolton and District Ambulance Service, Peel York District Ambulance Service, Shelburne District Hospital Ambulance Service.  Shawn also was a member of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Ambulance Service Review Team from 1994 to 1999.  Shawn was active within Essex Windsor EMS and the EMS Community in the capacity of emergency planning, disaster preparedness and tactical medicine.

His devotion and pride to the paramedic field was outstanding and will be greatly missed.
