Reporting to the Director of Emergency, Critical Care & Central East Prehospital Care Program, and in collaboration with the Medical Director and office manager, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the management of the Central East Pre-Hospital Care Program (CEPCP) and Advanced Life Support Marketed Services Program (ALS), while maintaining alignment with the strategic vision, mission, and values of Lakeridge Health (LH). The key responsibility of this position is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the program by managing and synthesizing its core activities in the delivery of education and quality assurance programs for the paramedicine services under its purview. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: " Oversee and coordinate the delivery of educational, clinical support and Continuous Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Services to the paramedics within the CEPCP catchment area. " Oversee the curriculum development for education - training, certification, and maintenance of skill levels for all providers and instructors. " Manage the hiring process of full and part time staff and their pre-employment skill and knowledge assessments. " Direct supervision of the full and part time Coordinator/Facilitators. " Liaison with Ministry of Health, Ontario Base Hospital Group, Paramedic Services, Paramedics, clinical sites, public and industry. " Align financial and managerial processes with Lakeridge Health's policies, procedures, and guidelines. " Develop, review, and update departmental and program policies and procedures in alignment with LH's policies, procedures, and guidelines, and with MOHLTC as required. " Analyze requirements and define office project activities and deliverables. " Develop project management work plans with the Director and other team members. " Support project teams, working groups, committees, and other stakeholder groups on the development and management of project plans. " Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data in preparation for projects and reports. " Produce regular status updates on project activities with critical milestones identified. " Remain up to date with health care quality assurance trends and practices and legislation. " Regularly review processes for quality improvement of the CEPCP " Manage a multitude of records via the development and maintenance of various databases. " Provide staff performance appraisals as required.
" University degree preferred in related health discipline " Advanced Care Paramedic College diploma / degree OR membership in good standing within an Ontario health discipline college " AEMCA Certificate " Minimum (5) years EMS experience required " Demonstrated knowledge of the Ambulance Act & Ontario Emergency Medical System (EMS) design and structure " Adult Education Certificate or equivalent experience, an asset. " Auditing experience or equivalent, as asset. " A keen interest with recent process re-engineering, planning and implementation experience. " Proven track record of achieving results that improve the organization and inspire confidence and commitment. " Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and create a high-performance culture through change management strategies that facilitates growth and development. " Proven knowledge of and ability to work with Collective Agreements and Labour Relations issues. " Proven ability to problem-solve and critically analyze issues. " Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, project planning and risk, change management, evaluation, and utilization management skills.
