Peterborough Paramedics serve the residents of Peterborough County and City. Peterborough Paramedics respond to approximately 34,000 calls annually with 150 dedicated staff both at the primary and advance care level. The service has six (6) stations throughout the County which are located in Peterborough (2), Norwood, Lakefield, Apsley, and a seasonal station in Buckhorn. Peterborough Paramedic operates several community paramedic programs including a Tactical paramedic team. What does the job look like? As a full-time Deputy Chief of Operations, you are providing leadership and direction to PCCP Superintendents and Paramedic personnel in order to ensure the operational readiness and effective operation of the department. You will also be supporting supervisory personnel in staffing, fleet, equipment, base operations, logistics and supports Professional Standards and Quality Assurance initiatives. This position requires you to work some unusual work hours due to unexpected circumstances periodically encountered in PCCP, and provides 24 hour “on-call” services on a rotational basis or in the event of significant operational issues.
