Job Description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Facilitator/Coordinator to join our CEPCP team. In this position you will have the opportunity to use your extensive knowledge and expertise to help us develop, implement and maintain an innovative and strategic approach to the Paramedic Program that will meet the current and future needs of Lakeridge Health (LH). This position will play a key role in providing high quality Paramedic support to Lakeridge Health client groups to achieve our vision and the objectives of Lakeridge Health's strategic direction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Central East Prehospital Care Program (CEPCP) is provided with Ministry of Health funding to deliver medical oversight and delegation, develop and deliver education and Quality Assurance/Continuous Quality Initiatives to approximately 1200 Primary and Advanced Care Paramedics in the communities of Durham, Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland, Peterborough and York. Services are also provided to more than 1800 clients through our Community Programs Division, including; community based responders, fire service staff, industrial responders and nursing staff. CEPCP encourages and supports personal/professional development and industry leading remuneration as a part of the program philosophy. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Coordinator is an expert in the field of paramedicine with clinical, CQI, QA and adult education experience, and is self-motivated to join the Central East Prehospital Care Program. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating the delivery of classroom clinical education to the prehospital emergency health care providers; including process improvement initiatives with all stakeholders of care provided by CEPCP team within our communities; coach internal customers assisting with education of applicable compliance activities and strategies to enhance the training experience, certification and maintenance of skill levels of providers; involved in the hiring process of instructional staff; assessing pre-employment knowledge level; a program liaison with agencies such as EMS, Paramedics, clinical sites, College educational programs, allied agencies in the field of prehospital care and industrial providers as well as public providers).

Qualifications

Ambulance and Emergency Care Diploma; * AEMCA (MOH & LTC); * Advanced Care Paramedic Certification; * HSFO Health Care Provider Instructor Certification preferred; * University degree (BSc) preferred; * Current Paramedic certification to practice; * Adult education certification or proven equivalent experience; * CQI certifications or experience, preferred; * Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education and teaching/learning skills; * Proven ability to work independently and as a strong team member with excellent interpersonal and communication skills within a client focused environment; * Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; * Must have a satisfactory performance record; * Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy; * Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; * Proven good attendance record with capabilities of maintaining this same standard.
